Intercultural Reception at the Michigan State Capitol PDF Print E-mail

The Second Annual Intercultural Reception at Michigan State Capitol took place on April 27th.The event provided the opportunity for the diverse ethnic, cultural and religious communities to come together with the elected officials to cultivate friendship, celebrate diversity, strengthen dialog and deepen intercultural awareness. Senator Gretchen Whitmer, Representatives Ed Clemente and  Tom Pearce welcomed the guests on behalf of the hosting committee, which was comprised of twenty legislators, and emphasized the importance of intercultural and interfaith dialog and pointed out Niagara Foundation’s contributions to that.This event was co-sponsored by the Turkish American Society of Michigan.

Cook & Share with Mrs. Teresa Kmetz, President of the Capital Area United Way PDF Print E-mail

In our third "Cook & Share" event on April 1t, 2010, Mrs. Teresa Kmetz, President of the Capital Area United Way, honored us by sharing her thoughts on the importance of charity for a stronger community. She also shared a special recipe of hers with the guests. Niagara Foundation volunteers also showed the recipes of three delicious dishes. At the end, the guests enjoyed what has been cooked during the event.

1st Annual Dinner of Abrahamic Traditions PDF Print E-mail
Niagara Foundation-Michigan organized its first Annual Dinner of Abrahamic Traditions on February 18th, 2010 at University Quality Inn, in Lansing, MI. More than 80 guests including clergy from churches, synagogues and mosques, academicians from several religious universities, colleges and seminaries, and leaders of many charitable and civic organizations attended the dinner. The theme of the event  was "Charity in Abrahamic Traditions", a very important value especially in today's economic challenges and natural disasters.

Cook & Share with Superintendent Cheryl Kreger PDF Print E-mail

In our second "Cook & Share" event on Jan. 12, 2010, Okemos Public Schools Superintendent Cheryl Kreger honored us by sharing her thoughts on the importance of diversity in K-12 education. She also shared a special recipe of hers with the guests. Niagara Foundation volunteers also showed the recipes of three delicious dishes. At the end, the guests enjoyed what has been cooked during the event.
